Spring has sprung and Summer is around the corner!

Ok guys so the weather here is finally warming a bit, and its got me all excited for summer! But why am I so excited for this summer? Well this summer I predict that the trend will be very "free people" or "West coast" style. I love this style! Its actually become my style! Here's what it looks like:
Boho (bohemian) jewelry is
basically anything with arrows,
rocks, or feathers.
Messy hair styles come in all
shapes and sizes. Small braids
also add to the look.
- Boho jewelry
- messy hair
- lacey tops
- dresses (my personal favorite)
- sandals

Loose dresses and lacey tops are so easy and breezey. I love wearing dresses; they make me feel so girly. But maybe you are nervous about wearing a dress. Here is a little secret to help you feel more secure. Wear shorts under your dress! Genius idea I got from my mom when I was little.

I'm thinking up some fun things for this summer so stick close by!
Comment below and tell me what you think of this style.

Here are some pictures of a beautiful lady who did my "New Year's Challenge" . She is very fashionable and her participation is inspiring. I love seeing how my blog is effecting people. Your comments and participation are really exciting for me, so keep it coming!

DIY: Flares to Skinny's in 5 easy steps!!

I have these jeans that are made of a really comfy material but I never wear them because they are flared. So I decided project.
1. Get out a pair of skinny jeans you like the cut of and lay them down on top of the flares.
2. Make sure to line up the inside edge of both pairs of jeans.
3. Pin down the outside seam of the skinny's
The flares should look like this
<--

Make sure your pins are facing this way so that when you are sewing you can pull them out easier. -->
4. Sew as close to the pins as you can.

On the out side of the first line you sewed,
sew a zig-zag line to make it stronger.

5. Cut off the excess material on the outside of the seam.

Bu-Bye flared jeans!

Hello super comfy skinny jeans!!
What do think of my first tutorial?
Leave a comment and tell me how I did!

Winter Love!

So I finished the challenge and was surprised to find how much this challenge helped me! I used to hate trying to get dressed in the winter. I am are either dressed cute
or warm, never both. But I finally figured it out!

This was my day 9 outfit: Wear two prints together!
I was going to Baltimore with my friend and knew it was going to be cold so
I had to do some closet shopping the night before. I came up with
my favorite plaid flannel shirt, and a striped long sleeve. I was excited with the fact
that I was able to pull off winter socks with my combat boots!
I couldn't believe how comforting the warmth of a hat and scarf could be!

Here is day 7: Winterize a dress!
I actually wore this dress all summer, and now I can wear it in the winter too!
I added leggings, a little half jacket, and legwarmers.
And this hat I wear almost every day. I love it!

These little slipper-ish shoes are so comfortable.
And yes those are legwarmers! I think a pulled them off pretty well.

I got all my day mixed up, so I didn't get a picture of everything. Sorry.
But I think this was a really good kick start to my
winter fashion, and I am ready for more!

Do you have pictures of your favorite winter outfit? Or
pictures of you during the challenge? I would love to put them on my blog!

Jeans and Heels!

Here is my day five outfit: Jeans and Heels! I keep forgetting to get a picture. :P These are some of favorite heels. I read somewhere that beige heels are a wardrobe necessity. I have found that to be amazingly true! They match absolutely everything!

So I know this challenge was unexpected, it even came up too quick for me! If you didn't get to start at day one that is fine. Just do it for fun!

  1. Wear a scarf any way you want! It's winter and everyone has scarves, so this should be easy.
  2. Wear something that matches your purses! You might be surprised by how cool this looks.
  3. Wear jewelry! And not just one bracelet or necklace, go all out and even layer. Maybe even try a statement necklace!
  4. Dress like a character from a TV show or movie. One of my favorites to imitate is Emma Swan from "Once Upon a Time". It's simple yet snazzy!
  5. Wear heels with your jeans! it can be boots with heels or sweet pair of actual heels.
  6. Wear a bright color! It doesn't have to be a lot just enough to make your outfit go *POP!*
  7. Try winterizing a dress! Wear tights, boots, a cute jacket. You can do it!
  8. Wear a cool belt! Big belt, sparkly belt, belt with a big buckle!
  9. Wear two different prints together! Floral and polka-dots or plaid and stripes. I haven't never done this one before but I am excited about it!
  10. Good job! Congratulations! You made it all the ten days! Rock jeans and a t-shirt in celebration! But you have to rock it!

New Year's Challenge!!

So I got the idea to do another challenge! This one will last 10 days starting January first. This challenge is designed to help you break out of last years style and try something daring! We will start off nice and easy, but first you have to promise me something. Promise me you will refrain from wearing yoga pants or there type, unless you are at home. It's just easier to put outfits together if they don't involve yoga pants. :P Ok are you ready? Here we go!

I will try and post some pictures of my progress and you send me some of yours and I'll post those too!

Be sure to tell me what day you are wearing and send it to:

Question Time!!

Q. What is the best way to wear a scarf?
A. Scarves are extremely versatile. Regular scarves can be
turned in to a vest and infinity scarves can be turn into a sweater.
But the best is probably around the neck.

Q. What outfit works best with a leather jacket?
A. I most often wear my leather jackets with jeans
and boots, But it does go well with
dresses and skirts too.

Q. Which iconic fashion trend do you wish had never come back?
A. The 90's grunge.

Q. Neckties or bow-ties?
A. Both. I like wearing neckties, but bow-ties are super spiffy on guys.

Q. What are the pros and cons of wearing tights?
A. In the cold seasons static can get pretty annoying.
But tights also make shorter skirts and dresses look less "scandalous". :)

Q. What is the best way to wear a baggy shirt/sweater?
A. I don't actually own either of these, but I
love the way they look with combat boots and skinny jeans.

Q. What is your opinion on long coats?
A. I think they are great for tall people. But for those
like my self, who may be on the shorter side its
better that we stick with hip length jackets.

Q. Do you think you can have a fancy hairstyle while
wearing just jeans and a t-shirt?
A. I'm not a hair pro but if you want to do it then go all out! =D

Q. What is a super quick and simple, yet formal hairstyle?
A. When all else fails go for a bun.

Q. What is hairstyle that you can do when you haven't
washed your hair in days and still want to be presentable?
A. I would say french braids are your best bet.

Q. What is your favorite wedding dress style?
A. Right now I really love the mermaid style,
and the princess style with and full tulle skirt. But who knows
that might change by the time of my wedding.

A Bit More Fall Fashion -{]}

Here are some pictures of my fall outfits so far. You might notice I don't actually wear fall colors. Weird right? I don't do it on purpose, purples and blues just appeal to my eye more when I am shopping.

As you might be able to tell in the outfit above it was a
rather rainy chilly day so I opted for boots and a thin long sleeve.

The outfit here came together surprisingly well.
Again it was a drizzly so before I went out the door I grabbed a "holey" jacket.
It kept the rain off but allowed a nice breeze in.

On Sunday it was really quite frigid. When I walked in I was surprised
to see that my friend and I had dressed extremely similarly!
We both had sheer sweater/shirts, skirts, tights, and fashion combat boots.
Last year my trade mark was "accessorize, accessorize!"
This year I'm going for "simplistic yet complex."

Hey let's do some question and answers! Email me as many fashion questions
as you can and I will see how many I can answer. My next post will include these questions and hopefully their answers. So get thinking, try to stump me. ;D
