New Year's Challenge!!

So I got the idea to do another challenge! This one will last 10 days starting January first. This challenge is designed to help you break out of last years style and try something daring! We will start off nice and easy, but first you have to promise me something. Promise me you will refrain from wearing yoga pants or there type, unless you are at home. It's just easier to put outfits together if they don't involve yoga pants. :P Ok are you ready? Here we go!

  1. Wear a scarf any way you want! It's winter and everyone has scarves, so this should be easy.
  2. Wear something that matches your purses! You might be surprised by how cool this looks.
  3. Wear jewelry! And not just one bracelet or necklace, go all out and even layer. Maybe even try a statement necklace!
  4. Dress like a character from a TV show or movie. One of my favorites to imitate is Emma Swan from "Once Upon a Time". It's simple yet snazzy!
  5. Wear heels with your jeans! it can be boots with heels or sweet pair of actual heels.
  6. Wear a bright color! It doesn't have to be a lot just enough to make your outfit go *POP!*
  7. Try winterizing a dress! Wear tights, boots, a cute jacket. You can do it!
  8. Wear a cool belt! Big belt, sparkly belt, belt with a big buckle!
  9. Wear two different prints together! Floral and polka-dots or plaid and stripes. I haven't never done this one before but I am excited about it!
  10. Good job! Congratulations! You made it all the ten days! Rock jeans and a t-shirt in celebration! But you have to rock it!
I will try and post some pictures of my progress and you send me some of yours and I'll post those too!

Be sure to tell me what day you are wearing and send it to:

Question Time!!

Q. What is the best way to wear a scarf?
A. Scarves are extremely versatile. Regular scarves can be
turned in to a vest and infinity scarves can be turn into a sweater.
But the best is probably around the neck.

Q. What outfit works best with a leather jacket?
A. I most often wear my leather jackets with jeans
and boots, But it does go well with
dresses and skirts too.

Q. Which iconic fashion trend do you wish had never come back?
A. The 90's grunge.

Q. Neckties or bow-ties?
A. Both. I like wearing neckties, but bow-ties are super spiffy on guys.

Q. What are the pros and cons of wearing tights?
A. In the cold seasons static can get pretty annoying.
But tights also make shorter skirts and dresses look less "scandalous". :)

Q. What is the best way to wear a baggy shirt/sweater?
A. I don't actually own either of these, but I
love the way they look with combat boots and skinny jeans.

Q. What is your opinion on long coats?
A. I think they are great for tall people. But for those
like my self, who may be on the shorter side its
better that we stick with hip length jackets.

Q. Do you think you can have a fancy hairstyle while
wearing just jeans and a t-shirt?
A. I'm not a hair pro but if you want to do it then go all out! =D

Q. What is a super quick and simple, yet formal hairstyle?
A. When all else fails go for a bun.

Q. What is hairstyle that you can do when you haven't
washed your hair in days and still want to be presentable?
A. I would say french braids are your best bet.

Q. What is your favorite wedding dress style?
A. Right now I really love the mermaid style,
and the princess style with and full tulle skirt. But who knows
that might change by the time of my wedding.

A Bit More Fall Fashion -{]}

Here are some pictures of my fall outfits so far. You might notice I don't actually wear fall colors. Weird right? I don't do it on purpose, purples and blues just appeal to my eye more when I am shopping.

As you might be able to tell in the outfit above it was a
rather rainy chilly day so I opted for boots and a thin long sleeve.

The outfit here came together surprisingly well.
Again it was a drizzly so before I went out the door I grabbed a "holey" jacket.
It kept the rain off but allowed a nice breeze in.

On Sunday it was really quite frigid. When I walked in I was surprised
to see that my friend and I had dressed extremely similarly!
We both had sheer sweater/shirts, skirts, tights, and fashion combat boots.
Last year my trade mark was "accessorize, accessorize!"
This year I'm going for "simplistic yet complex."

Hey let's do some question and answers! Email me as many fashion questions
as you can and I will see how many I can answer. My next post will include these questions and hopefully their answers. So get thinking, try to stump me. ;D

Here Comes Fall!

So guess what? Fall weather has arrived here in Virginia! For most people that means scarves, sweaters, boots, and jeans. But when the cold weather first peeked around the corner I was rather worried. Fall is that weird time when you can't wear shorts and t-shirts anymore, but long sleeves are often to hot by midday. Places like magazines and Pinterest make it seem so easy, but its not.
So what's a girl to do?
Fantastic Fall Outfit For High Fashion Women
See? Doesn't this look nice? But if you are like me you
will be melting by noon.

Love this sweater! The whole outfit. Lots of other pretty patterns too. | Antrorse pattern from "Journey" by Jane Richmond & Shannon Cook
A lot of people will try this look for the fall. Its cute but
it has one problem. I hate to break it to you
but leggings and tights aren't pants. Please don't do this!

"Fall my way" by ktbookworm96 on Polyvore
Since I failed to take pictures of my outfits, I created two outfits on a website called Polyvore. Here is my basic idea. Sheer tops allow you to wear long sleeves without boiling your skin. Thin sweaters or "holey" sweaters allow a bit of cool fall air flow. I myself have never been a sweater wearer but I rather enjoy sweaters like this. Leggings can be worn in the fall but under a skirt, as pictured, or long shirt/dress looks best. I didn't put in any scarves only because I don't really prefer to wear them. If you like scarves go for it! They are often the choice fall accessory.

That's about all I have got for now. I will hopefully post some more pictures soon!

Finally Spring!

So after a grueling winter of 70 degrees one day and
28 degrees the next, I finally made it to spring!
This is my favorite time of year, warm but not yet suffocating. :P
Hardly anything I wore this winter was worth posting.

A little glimpse at what I wore all winter...scary right?
Winter is definitely not my best dressed season!

I've been sewing alot this winter and thought y'all might like to see some of the stuff I've made.

This is a skirt used to be pants,
but the pants didn't fit me cuz they were too big.
Sadly I learned that turning them into
a skirt made it bigger. :(

I add a ruffle for freer movement.

This is a picture of my pants
 before I chopped them up.
 (back when they fit me)

So now you know what I did this winter! Hey, how did you dress this past winter?
Send me a picture and I just might post it:
